Wanderwoman Update: Sindhu Satish

This week we travel back to Luxembourg and check in on Sindhu, another American Expat living in Europe. For those of you new to the site, meet Sindhu Satis, (IG: fiftyshadesofsin) a social media specialist and hypnotherapist, who moved from Seattle to Luxembourg with her husband a few years ago. You can read her full original profile here. Let’s see what she has to say about how things have changed for her during the pandemic.

How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected your life?

The first couple of weeks felt weird. There was a sudden change in my schedule as I am not used to working from home. I missed being outdoors, missed being with my colleagues, and missed my double screens (and they are huge!) from work. However, I was glad that my husband was around. It was nice to chill with him during lunchtime, and although I live close to work, it was good to save the time spent on traveling. (Even if it's just 15 min one way).

How do you feel your country is handling the pandemic? Do you feel safe?

The lockdowns have been lifted, and everything is almost back to normal here in Luxembourg. There are some people who are not respecting the current situations by not wearing mask, and social distancing, but the country has done its best. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that we are safe. Also every resident got 50 free masks, and a free COVID-19 check up. I think that's great

Based on current travel restrictions are you happy to be where you are or do you wish you were somewhere else?

I am very happy being in Luxembourg (where I live). It is clean, quiet, and I have everything I need.

What are your thoughts on travel right now? When do you plan on traveling? And what are your new guidelines/precautions?

For the moment, my next trip is planned 2 weeks from now to Switzerland. However, I am uncomfortable taking flights just as yet, so we will drive down. Plus it's only 4-5 hours by car to Verbier and Montreux (where we are going).

What is your new normal?

Working from home every alternate week, and going to work every alternate week. Wearing masks when there are people around, and avoiding large gatherings + flights. But I like it. A slightly slower pace of life, but it's great.
