City Diaries: Lisbon
Hello fellow wanderers and welcome to our new feature. We asked our Wanderwomen what their favorite places in their current city are and will be sharing them here.
I mean, if you are going to travel to destinations unknown, you need a quick city guide of the top spots from people you trust, amirite? In our inaugural post, let’s visit some of Michelle’s top spots in her current home, Lisbon, which is now open to Americans!
Favorite Restaurant
Jncquoi Asia for a casual, trendy, modern and chic vibe
Seen by Olivier when I’m in the mood for a fancy hotspot
Mind you, I moved during covid so I wouldn’t say that these are my definitive favourites—so much to still explore!
Favorite Cafe
Where to Stay
Bairro Alto Hotel or Casa Oliver
Must See Tourist Spot
Must See Off the Beaten Path
Hiking around Setubal
Favorite Neighborhood to explore
Favorite Place for Drinks
Memmo Hotel Principe Real, Jncquoi Avenida, Lost In
Favorite Local Getaway
Carcavelos Beach or my own Terrace, Costa Caparica and dining at Borda d'Agua
Favorite Shopping Area
Principe Real and Graça
Favorite Spa
Terra Heal and Altis Belem Hotel and Spa (but my favourite manicurist and masseuse of all time do house calls) Again, I don’t get out much...
If you had one last day in Lisbon, how would you spend it?
I would spend our last day getting a home service mani pedi and massage on my terrace and then enjoying the view with a bottle of vino verde and bacalao on toast and arugula salad.
