Favorite Restaurant
Casual: BXL Zoute. I love going here! All the staff is super friendly, and the food AND DRINKS never disappoint. Mussels, steak tartare, filet mignon, croque madame, AND THEY ARE THE ONLY PLACE IN THE CITY THAT SERVES MY FAVORITE DUTCH DISH “BITTERBALLEN” !!! (it’s fried. Its veal. It’s a finger food. Its yummy!)
Fancy: I prefer to go to more casual places but I always love Milos. I also like Cosme and The Polo Bar.
For more casual I love Kiki’s in the lower east side. You should get the saganaki, shrimp, octopus and lamb chops!!
Favorite Cafe
I don’t really have a favorite cafe because I always make my own coffee but during the pandemic, I made a point of going out to get a matcha latte or cappuccino to support small businesses and would go to this Italian cafe in my neighborhood called Pisillo. I also like the matcha latte at Black Fox and Yanni on 15th & 7th.
Now I wish I had never started doing that because now I have an “expensive” habit of going out and spending $6-$7 on caffeine every day….
Where to Stay
My favorite hotel is the Greenwich hotel and the Nomad (The Nomad closed in 2021 and will be reopening as London’s Outpost of The Ned)
I personally really like the Wall Street Inn too, it’s old world charm and right up the block from where I live. Its nothing fancy but the rooms are good and they only have 40 rooms.

If you had one last day in NY, how would you spend it?
Walk around, get lost, eat bitterballen at BXL Zoute, go to Kiki’s for a long lunch, get drunk. Get on a citi bike, get a carton of eggs and throw them off a bridge. Just be spontaneous and have fun!
